Excellence in Facility Design or Retrofit
A facility design or retrofit may qualify for this award for a number of (or combination of) reasons: Energy efficiency, traffic flow (people and materials), conversion to single-use or flexible operations, increased automation, accommodation to local ordinances and integration with local services and policies, expansion to take on a new product line or convert to a multiproduct facility, creations of better ergonomic conditions in general . . . and so on. Each entry will be judged on its own merits and according to the expressed aims of that facility’s design criteria.
